WASHINGTON - During this week’s hearing of the Education and Labor Committee, Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) offered an amendment to guarantee that the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act will follow the long-standing Hyde Amendment precedent and prohibit federal funds from being used for abortion services.

“For more than 40 years, the Hyde Amendment has ensured that Americans are not forced to pay for abortion on demand with their tax dollars,” said Miller. “President Biden’s budget shatters this long-standing precedent, and Democrats are forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions regardless of their deeply held moral opposition to ending life in the womb. I will continue to be a voice for the voiceless and will always fight for the unborn.”
