Appropriations

Each year, the Community Project Funding process allows Members of Congress to accept and review applications for local projects seeking federal funding assistance. After a thorough review, Members may submit eligible projects to the House Appropriations Committee for consideration and possible inclusion in the federal government’s annual budget.
In addition to Community Project Funding requests, the appropriations process provides Members with the opportunity to submit programmatic funding requests for specific agencies and programs funded through annual appropriations bills. Members may also request bill or report language to encourage or direct federal agencies to carry out specific actions in support of congressional priorities.
