WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15) visited the Southern Border with President Trump today along with members of the Republican Study Committee.

The overwhelming support President Trump received upon his arrival was encouraging to Congresswoman Miller.

“The America First agenda is the right agenda for our nation,” Miller said. “President Trump inherited a broken immigration system at our Southern Border. President Biden inherited a solution. It is such a shame that out of utter hatred for President Trump, the Democrats have reversed proven solutions to our immigration system.”

"President Trump's policies were working and on Day One, the Biden Administration started dismantling them."

“I arrived late last night and went straight to the border to see the situation firsthand,” Miller said. “The Biden-Harris Administration has handed control of our border to human traffickers and drug cartels. We cannot close our eyes to the humanitarian crisis that President Biden has facilitated.”

Miller said that last night, the illegal immigrants their group encountered were women, children, and teenage boys. There were no grown men. The group told her that they had been traveling for two months. These children were alone and met each other along the way.

The Hill publication reported and wrote a story about Miller's experience.

“I’m a mom of 7 children and grandmother of 17,” Miller said. “What horrors did these children face at the hands of cartels or traffickers along the way? This story is repeated over and over every day. The Democrats refuse to acknowledge this crisis and the Biden open border policies fund and empower the cartels.”

Moments after her visit to the Border Wall with President Trump, the Congresswoman joined Tony Perkins from The Family Research Council on his radio program, Washington Watch.

“The first duty of government is to protect its citizens. On every front, President Biden & his Administration are not protecting the people. Border security translates to homeland security. People want to feel safe in their communities.”

Congresswoman Miller is looking forward to returning home to Illinois next week to share her stories and experience from the Southern Border.

"Every state becomes a border state when we open our borders," Miller said. "Sanctuary states like Illinois, are especially dangerous. The policies in place at our border are turning the entire country into one giant sanctuary. Border security is home security and we cannot allow our country & our communities to be invaded."
