Rep. Mary Miller Statement on Tour of Biden Border Crisis

WASHINGTON - Today, Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) visited Eagle Pass, Texas, on a congressional delegation with Speaker Mike Johnson, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, and House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green. Rep. Miller released the following statement:

“Joe Biden is violating his oath to defend our nation’s borders and uphold our immigration laws. In December alone, more than 300,000 illegal aliens entered our country, which is roughly half the size of the population I represent in Illinois’ 15th district. Since day one, the Biden administration has incentivized military-aged men to come into this country illegally without any repercussions.

“This invasion is the largest national security threat since 9/11. Millions of foreign nationals are slipping into the interior undetected, and some of them intend to do us harm. Women and young girls are being raped or sexually assaulted by the cartels and human traffickers, and 100,000 children are officially missing. In addition, in the Del Rio sector alone, the federal government is spending $32 million of taxpayer dollars per week to process and facilitate illegal entry. American taxpayers are also footing the bill for the billions of dollars that are being used for housing and healthcare for the illegal aliens. 

“60-70 percent of foreign nationals crossing illegally are military-aged men, and they come from more than 100 countries, including those hostile toward the U.S. The Trump administration utilized every tool to stem the flow of illegal immigration, including remain in Mexico, building the border wall, and empowering Border Patrol agents to enforce the law. Joe Biden has endangered the lives of Americans by reversing President Trump's border policies and by allowing more than 8 million illegal immigrants into the country.”
