Rep. Miller Introduces Measure to Strengthen Title IX Protections

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15) reintroduced the Safety and Opportunity for Girls Act to protect women's sports, spaces, and locker rooms on the 105th anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment.
The legislation reaffirms Title IX’s original intent by clearly defining sex as “male” and “female” as biologically determined. This ensures Title IX cannot be reinterpreted by radical leftists or activist judges to erase women’s opportunities, fairness, or privacy.
The bill further clarifies that Title IX allows schools to maintain sex-segregated bathrooms, locker rooms, and athletic or academic programs, and it prevents the Department of Education from stripping funding from schools that uphold biological truth.
“The Left is erasing decades of progress for women by forcing girls to compete and share private spaces with men. We cannot let this continue,” said Congresswoman Mary Miller. “On the 105th anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment, my bill will secure Title IX’s original purpose of protecting biological girls’ sports, privacy, and opportunities.”
