Rep. Miller Joins the Republican Study Committee in Introducing the Women's Bill of Rights

May 19, 2022

WASHINGTON - Today, Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL), Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Banks (IN) and other RSC members gathered outside the Capitol to discuss the introduction of the “Women’s Bill of Rights” resolution to reaffirm legal protections for women.

Senators Ted Cruz (TX), Cindy Hyde-Smith (MS), and Cynthia Lummis (WY)  introduced companion legislation in the Senate.

“I will never be afraid to speak out in defense of our daughters, who need adults in leadership positions who are not afraid of being criticized by radical leftists," Miller said. "The answer to the question “what is a woman” has been clear for the entire history of our civilization, and it has not changed since Genesis. The radical left has launched an attack on biology because they want to put themselves above God, and they want to brainwash our daughters with their "wokeism." That’s why today, we are unveiling the Women’s Bill of Rights in order to legally define what it means to be a woman. I am doing this on behalf of my 5 daughters, and all women. This common-sense document will help codify our common understanding and the reality we all know of the words ‘female,’ ‘woman,’ and ‘sex’, and I am proud to support it.”

The following outside groups support the RSC’s Women’s Bill of Rights: Independent Women’s Voice, Independent Women’s Law Center, Concerned Women for America LAC, Heritage Action for America, American Principles Project, Women’s Liberation Front, Family Policy Alliance, Eagle Forum, Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC), and Women’s Declaration International USA.
