Rep. Miller Statement on CDC Director Departure

May 5, 2023

WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) released the following statement on CDC Director Walensky's announcement that she will be departing her role:

"Today, the announcement of CDC Director Walensky's departure does not change the fact that the unelected bureaucrats at the CDC must be held accountable for attempting to impose an illegal and unconstitutional vaccine mandate. The American people deserve transparency and accountability from their public health agencies, and Congress must act accordingly. Director Walensky lost all confidence from the public when she made ridiculous claims that men can become pregnant, and when she said the COVID shot would prevent you from getting COVID. These baseless statements only fuel public distrust in the CDC and its leadership. The CDC and the corrupt World Health Organization have both lost all credibility, and they should both have ZERO power to impose any mandates on the American people!"
