Rep. Miller Votes No On Biden-Schumer Ndaa Over Abortion Funding And Fisa Spying Abuses
WASHINGTON - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives voted on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024. Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15) voted against the legislation and released the following statement:
“The purpose of the NDAA is for Congress to provide authorization and oversight for the Defense Department on behalf of the American people. Instead, Biden and Schumer have bloated the bill with woke ideology, including their abortion travel policy that forces taxpayers to pay for abortion-related costs.
"Biden and Schumer are also using the NDAA to extend abusive FISA spying powers, which need reform to prevent the Biden administration from spying on American citizens without a warrant for political purposes. We need serious FISA reform because partisan politics has infected the FBI and intel community, and the Obama-Biden administration abused the FISA process to begin the "Russia Collusion Hoax" against the Trump Administration.
"The 8 million foreign nationals, who Biden has allowed to illegally cross our border, include known terrorists and military-aged men from China and the Middle East who pose the greatest threat to our nation since 9/11.
"Instead of stopping the threat on our border, Biden has used the DOJ and security state to target and prosecute his political opponents. Biden and his corrupt administration must be checked, restrained, and restricted by the House, and this bill fails to do that.”
